PXV Art Mag is a publication produced by the Artists of PXV, based in Phoenixville, PA.
Heyday Studios was hired to transform their DIY magazine into a polished, professional publication while creating a sustainable design system the organization could use for future issues.
I led the project from initial client discovery through final template delivery. I met with the Artists of PXV to understand their goals and challenges, developed and presented the design direction, and established the publication's editorial system, including typography, hierarchy, grid, and layout structure. I also determined the template requirements needed to accommodate the organization's recurring content and varying issue needs.
I designed the cover and interior layouts and developed detailed, customizable templates for future issues. I provided guidance on how to use and adapt the templates so the organization could maintain a consistent visual identity independently. I managed the project timeline and client communication throughout the process, balancing the organization's practical needs with the goal of creating a more polished and distinctive publication.
