Through Heyday Studios, I was contracted by Genesis Companies to design a response to a New York City Housing Authority RFP for the redevelopment of an affordable housing community in Harlem. The project required translating a large volume of technical, narrative, and compliance-driven content into a clear, structured, and visually cohesive proposal exceeding 300 pages.
My role was to lead the visual design and information architecture of the document, working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, messaging priorities, and constraints. After reviewing all content, I focused on establishing a flexible system for hierarchy, layout, and typography that could accommodate varied content types while maintaining consistency and readability throughout.
Once the system was in place, I applied it across the full proposal, refining structure and pacing to ensure that complex information was easy to navigate and understand. Particular attention was given to organizing dense sections so that key messages remained accessible without requiring additional explanation.
The final proposal supported a successful submission and demonstrated the ability to translate highly complex, technical content into a clear and navigable visual system.
