Through Heyday Studios, I was contracted by Genesis Companies to design a response to a New York City Housing Authority RFP for the redevelopment of an affordable housing community in Harlem. The project required translating 300+ pages of technical, narrative, and compliance-driven content into a clear, structured, and visually cohesive proposal.
I worked collaboratively with Chia Ma to develop the visual design and information architecture for the proposal. Together, we reviewed the extensive source material, identified content priorities and structural requirements, and established a flexible system of hierarchy, typography, grids, and layouts that could accommodate a wide range of content while maintaining consistency throughout the document.
We divided the design and production work across the proposal, working closely to maintain a unified visual language and refine the structure as new content was incorporated. Particular attention was given to organizing dense sections, creating clear entry points, and using hierarchy and pacing to make complex information easier to navigate and understand.
The final proposal supported a successful bid and demonstrated the ability to translate highly complex, technical content into an accessible and cohesive visual system at significant scale.
